Accepted name and source opinion
Kew POWO accepts Echinopsis ancistrophora with the author citation Speg.; its native range is Northwest Argentina.1 The current Kew taxonomy surface gives Northwest Argentina as the native range; the broader wording on an older cached general-information surface remains recorded as a source-version discrepancy.
Placement and production lineage
The production lineage is species → Echinopsis → Trichocereeae; the Cactaceae family context remains higher in the ancestry chain. This source owns only the existing species node and its direct genus relationship; it creates no family, order, subfamily or tribe nodes. A globose to short-columnar body, rib and areole pattern, potentially hooked spines, flowers and reliable provenance should be evaluated together.
Identification cannot be reduced to one product photograph, flower colour or body proportions altered by cultivation. Ribs, areoles, spines, flowers, growth form and reliable provenance should be evaluated together.
Synonymy and canonical boundary

Echinopsis subdenudata is one of them, while the production Domino record is a separate cultivar taxonomy and commerce surface below the accepted species. Homotypic and heterotypic names support search and literature retrieval but are not separately accepted species routes.
The synonym E. subdenudata is not recreated as an accepted species; the Echinopsis ancistrophora ‘Domino’ cultivar node, botanical record and product remain unchanged.

The native range is recorded as Northwest Argentina.1 Nursery origin and commercial inventory are not evidence about wild populations.
