  • Sunlight: It loves abundant and direct sunlight. Position it where it can receive at least 6-8 hours of direct sun daily. However, during the hottest midday hours in summer, you might consider light afternoon shade to prevent scorching.
  • Soil and Pot: Use a very well-draining, mineral-heavy cactus soil mix. A mixture enriched with volcanic rocks, perlite, and pumice is ideal. For a pot, choose a small, breathable terracotta pot with drainage holes.
  • Watering: This is one of the cactus species that requires the least water. Never water before ensuring the soil is completely dry. Even in summer, water very rarely and sparingly. During its winter dormancy, almost no watering is needed. Overwatering is the main cause of root rot.
